SOLO CSV inaugurates Movimiento 37, a space conceived as an international platform for exchange between artists, galleries, and institutions through residencies and exhibition projects. It offers international projects the opportunity to present their work in Madrid, providing curatorial guidance and communication support so that each collaboration can reach its full potential. This is the second space open to the public at the center, following the Bowman Hal gallery, which launched its program in June.

Koka Nikoladze transforms sound in Movimiento 37’s first exhibition project

The opening of Movimiento 37 is marked by an exhibition from Georgian composer and sound artist Koka Nikoladze, on view from September 18 to November 8, with free admission available upon ticket download. The show brings together works that combine electronics, programming, and carpentry in the form of sound devices, exploring both the emotional and functional dimensions of sound.

Among the featured works is the Drone Boxes series, a set of electromechanical instruments that transform everyday objects—such as a pineapple or a paper cup—into resonators activated by motors. These devices generate automated quartets in which technical precision is balanced by elements of unpredictability.

The exhibition also includes the video installation People, conceived for the Norwegian vocal group Nordic Voices, which delves into the fragility of the body in the face of control structures. In addition, Nikoladze presents Koka’s Merch Shop, a critical proposal on the relationship between art and the market: an online store where the price of each object changes randomly through an automatic generator, thus questioning consumer dynamics in contemporary art.

One of the works reinterprets the song Tocarte, by Jorge Drexler and C. Tangana, turning a popular hit into an unexpected soundscape. The opening featured a live performance by Nikoladze and Drexler, using the Drone Boxes as instruments of improvisation and musical dialogue.
