Not much is known about the multidisciplinary artist Lin Wenxin, who also is known by the name HUNTSOUL. The Chinese-based artist first garnered notoriety in the comic book world, becoming known for his very distinct visual imagery where he is inspired by skate culture, mixing psychedelics and traditional tattoo styles. He has since then expanded his artistic endeavours creating different sculptural works, posters, industrial design, and drawings where he further explores his street-inspired art. WenXin is also known for collaborating and creating many different plastic art toys, most notably being one of the co-founders of Plastic Friends, an art toy brand that tries to “bridge the gap between false material needs and real psychological needs”. In more recent years, WenXin has developed the clothing brand of the same name, HUNTSOUL. The brand, also heavily inspired and influenced by skateboarding and street-style subcultures, is one in which his art becomes wearable.
