Aryz

Aryz is a Barcelona-based artist whose work moves between street art, painting, and large-scale muralism. Born in California and raised in the outskirts of Barcelona, he came up through the graffiti scene, painting on factory walls and forgotten buildings — places where he could experiment freely without rules. That sense of freedom and rebellion still runs through everything he does.

His work combines spray paint, rollers, brushes, and oil paint, and what interests him is not just filling walls but exploring forms and characters that vibrate with contradiction. Humans, animals, skeletons, exposed organs, pastel colors mixed with muted tones; his creatures seem to be taken from a surrealist comic book that at the same time demands that you keep looking. He doesn’t work with projections or fixed ideas in many cases; he starts without a sketch, lets himself go, and adjusts as he goes along—the aesthetics of improvisation and risk are very present.

Throughout his career, Aryz has held exhibitions such as Preludio at the Senda Gallery in Barcelona, large murals around Europe and Latin America, presence in giant public spaces, international collaborations, and recognition in the urban world. Aryz has managed to maintain a clear visual signature without repeating formulas, which is rare. What he values in his career: constant evolution, freedom of format, breaks, and the ability of the visual to generate tension, emotion, and reflection without the need for lengthy explanations.
