Nikita Diakur, an artist based in Germany, uses unconventional computer simulation techniques to depict everyday activities, introducing randomness and chaos into his work. These methods lead to unexpected and spontaneous results, which are characteristic of his animation style.
Known as an “ugly filmmaker,” Diakur has taken part in numerous international exhibitions and festivals, winning awards for his films Ugly, Fest, and backflip. In 2021, he ventured into the blockchain space with his work Sharing BBQ, which is part of the Ugly series.
In addition, Diakur contributes to the artistic community by giving lectures and workshops. He has also been part of the Q21 Artist-in-Residence Program in Vienna and is a member of the European Film Academy.
