In July 2024, Chilean artist Víctor Castillo took part in a one-month residency SOLO Castanedo. Conceived as a focused period of production in close connection with its surroundings, the residency offered a change of context—allowing the artist to respond directly to the landscape, pace, and atmosphere of northern Spain.
Caprichos presents the works developed during this time alongside a selection of earlier pieces, creating a dialogue between new research and Castillo’s wider trajectory. Across different media—including intervened surfboards, watercolours on paper, sketches, and prints—the exhibition offers an insight into the artist’s process and visual language, shaped by references to contemporary popular culture.
Organised in collaboration with Chilean gallery Isabel Croxatto, the project also marked the launch of the Artist Residency in SOLO Castanedo a former dairy farm transformed into a space for production and exhibition, with the aim of supporting artistic practice and activating contemporary culture within a rural context.
